To help employees recognize and avoid electrical hazards that HVAC technicians face, Linc Service contractor Trotter and Morton hosted an Empower Training Services seminar on electrical safety at their Seattle location.
Taught by ABM Franchising Group’s Director of Technical Training and Support, Joseph DeMonte, the seminar covered crucial information from NFPA-70E, the Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
“Joe did a fantastic job! He is very knowledgeable and added personal experiences to explain the hazards,” said Audra Cassar, Health and Safety Director at Trotter and Morton. “We are going to discuss how we would have this training available for new hires in the future.”
Joseph DeMonte is the co-lead instructor for Empower Training Services, teaching courses in the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace. He has over 22 years of industry experience in predictive maintenance, including infrared thermography, and previously designed courses and instructed Navy Special Ops and Coast Guard forces.
“Every Linc Service contractor has technicians exposed to electrical hazards while executing their duties,” says Joe Gierlach, ABM Franchising Group's Vice President of Technical Training and Support. “Contractors have a responsibility to train and qualify those technicians to work around electrical hazards. Empower Training seminars can answer that need and prepare technicians for the NFPA Certified Electrical Safety Technician (CEST) certification.” NFPA CEST certification is strongly recommended for every technician and is available
