Consumer Demand Leads Payne Mechanical Services to Expand to New Location in Longview, Texas
A demand for services in Longview, Texas, led Louisiana-based Payne Mechanical Services to expand its services by opening a new location in the area on March 29, 2017.
“We had customers who began to call us and had technicians in that area, so it seemed like a good fit,” said Principal Keith Payne. “This expansion allows us to better serve our existing customers in the area, and provides more opportunity for growth in the future.”
The company marked the occasion with a ribbon cutting ceremony at its new South Eastman Road facility, which is about 50 miles west of its Shreveport, La., headquarters. More than 80 people, including Payne family, customers, the Longview Chamber of Commerce, and local politicians and media attended the landmark event.
Payne Mechanical Services’ new location brought five new employees into the company, bringing its employee roster up to 105, Payne said.
Payne Mechanical Services was founded in 1956 by Bob Payne and his son, Bill Payne, as Payne Plumbing and Sanitation Company in Shreveport, La., installing septic tanks and plumbing in rural areas. The business expanded in 1960 to include large residential and small commercial projects.
The expansion continued in 1970 to include heating and air conditioning services, and again in 1971 by providing mechanical work at schools, hotels, apartments, hospitals and multi-family buildings.
The business continued to steadily grow and was renamed the Payne Company in 1984 to reflect its varied portfolio of services, which not only included HVAC, and mechanical and plumbing services, but also water and sewer main installations, and sheet metal and process piping services.
Payne Mechanical Services became a Linc Service franchise in 1999, expanding their offerings to provide complete, guaranteed preventative maintenance programs for HVAC equipment.
Keith Payne said he views the expansion as an opportunity to continue his family’s legacy of providing quality service, which he attributes to a dedicated team of employees.
“We have a great team with great people who are dedicated to providing great service to our customers,” he said. “The city of Longview has also been great to work with – the community has welcomed us, and the Chamber has been very helpful.
“We are excited about the opportunity to serve this area of Texas and we are looking forward to growing in this market.”
Along with their new location in Longview, Texas, the company continues providing services to clients in Shreveport and northwestern Louisiana.
